Our third annual fundraiser was a SMASHING SUCCESS!!!
The benefit concert featuring Corcoran Holt and Friends along with Master See was a standing room only affair held at the Kingsbury Center on 14th Street, NW on Sunday, February 9 from 3:00 to 6:00 pm.
This shall be remembered as one of the best Black History Month events in 2014 for the vibes were so healing and uplifting! Positive people poured in and Arts For Our Children Inc. surpassed our goal! Donations and in-kind contributions are still pouring in!.
Certainly all in attendance enjoyed the Soul Beat Sounds of Master See and the jazzy healing and swinging bounce music of our very own, Corcoran Holt on bass, MacClenty Hunter on drums and Vernell Brown on piano who are the rhythm section for the
Grammy-nominated Kenny Garrett Band. They were joined by DC’s own Brian Settles on horn. Elders and all were up dancing to the jazzy and swinging vibes. What a great concert and community event for the 2014 iThings 2 Collard Greens Summer Enrichment Program for Girls sponsored by Arts For Our Children Inc.
To God Be the Glory! We appreciate the outstanding community support, all who sold advance tickets, served wine and refreshments, worked the reception table, took pictures and video, and made additional tax deductible contributions.
For the sake of our children we stand!
